Annual Candlelight Shopping Friday: If Only…a fine store

Join us for our signature candlelight shopping event on First Friday!  At 5:00 we turn off the florescent lights and light hundreds of candles which bring holiday cheer, sparkle, and shine to your shopping experience.  The ambiance is perfect for choosing the perfect holiday gifts, sipping cider and chatting with friends.   Brayana Jeannet will perform on Classical Harp from 5 to 6:30, and Rebecca Morse will play traditional carols and tunes on antique pump organs from 6:30 to 8.  Remember to sign up for our First Friday drawing.

Open House: Yukon Quest

Join us on First Friday in Fairbanks! You may have seen some of Art Cross’s captivating drawings of Lance Mackey and his dogs. Come on down to the Yukon Quest cabin and meet Art in person as he demonstrates his drawing techniques and shows his beautiful artwork.

We will also be drawing for the Junior Yukon Quest Raffle – we have some GREAT prizes including the Grand Prize of a custom made EZ Rider Sled donated by Wayne Valcq valued at $1500.00! Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20.00 and the proceeds will benefit the 2010 Junior Yukon Quest race which starts March 13, in Fairbanks.

This is also a great time to purchase your 2010 Yukon Quest gear in our store, visit with some of the world class mushers who will be running the race, and sample our tasty treats! Come on down to 550 First Avenue, in downtown Fairbanks!

First Friday: Morris Thompson Center

We are happy to host a number of local spinners and weavers to feature select pieces. A number f artists will do onsite spinning and weaving demonstrations, and will have their products for sale. Art yarn made from wool. mohair, alpaca and beads, knitted hats and locally spun yarn are only a few items that you can expect.

December No Shame: Empress Theatre

Brave the cold. Come out and see what happens at No Shame Theatre, Friday, December 4th! 7 PM to do it. 8 PM to watch other people do it.

What is No Shame theater?
*an open-mic style night of performance art
*a place for actors, writers, and directors to get together and experiment
*a venue for performers of all ages, genres, talent levels

If you’ve got a piece cast and directed, show up at 7. We’ll give you a slot.
If you want to perform, but don’t have a piece, show up at 7, we’ll have something for you to do.
If you have a script, but don’t have a cast, show up at at 7, we’ll cast it for you.
